The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Mask

Hey,

Today I have you a little post on this Soap and Glory 'The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Mask'.

I picked this beauty up a good while ago and its definitely has be come one of those products I have forgot about recently and really need to start using weekly again!!

What's great about this mask is you don't actually need a lot...meaning you will definitely get your moneys worth! It has a lovely gritty texture and leaves your skin feeling very soft and clean. But I don't think I believe the fact it helps shrink large pores which is why it got left on my bathroom shelf for so long!

If you want a mask that makes your face smooth and exfoliate at the same time, then this is a nice mask but I personally wont be repurchasing, purely because i just don't love it enough!

Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing System!!

In the past, I have never been bothered in a cleansing systems. That is probably because they can be very pricey and I definitely didn't think they were worth it!

I came across this version on the Boots website home page and for the price (I paid £26.65), I was really interested and planned to buy it just after Christmas! I picked this up when I was shopping on boxing day and have used it every day since!

Pros
  • It has 2 speeds (suitable even for my sensitive skin)
  • Waterproof!!
  • Replacement brushes are only around £10 for 2
Cons
  • Can irritate sensitive skin if you apply any pressure when your using it

If you like the look of the Clarisonic but like me, you don't like the price. This Olay Cleansing System currently has a 1/3 off at Boots and is only £26.66 (normally £39.99)

*offer was on day of posting*

Update #4

Hey,

Wow I'm glad the last 3 weeks are over! I  have never been so stressed in all my life! For personal reasons; the uni work that I had planned for over Christmas did not get done which meant when I got back to uni, I had one week to start and finish my assignment. Luckily I had all my notes, etc already done so I just needed to put it into the 2000 words word count! I did it after a week of early mornings and late nights!! I would say never again but what happened at Christmas was completely out of my control! The rest of the time was for revision for my second year exams! This time of year is the most stressful that is for sure but exams are all over so I can now relax.

Amongst that terrible 3 weeks though, I did find out this years placements...yay!! My first placement is a general ward which will be great to get back into the swing of thing,s as I've not stepped a foot into a hospital since July! I then go out with a Community Health Visitor and then my favourite placement of all...10 weeks on NICU (Neonate Intensive Care Unit for those those not familiar).

I'm currently sat at home waiting to start placement so will be getting my blog super organised so I am going to try and stick to 3 posts a week but it may go down to 1 if I'm doing nights one week or something that means I don't have much time to myself! I have the next 2 weeks worth of posts ready to write and schedule so I'm hoping it continues to be so organised!

If there is any student nurse related posts you would like to see just let me know and I will try and do them for you!

Maybelline BabySkin!!

Wow Maybelline keeps them coming, a primer to add to their baby range!

I've had the privilege of having this Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Lightweight Primer in my makeup bag for just over two weeks after setting my eyes upon it during a trip to Boots.
I'm unlucky and have very large pores so I'm always on the lookout for something to make them look smaller! After Benefits POREfessionals failed to do this when I seen this I just had to pick it up and give it a whirl.

Pros

  • When this is worn with a foundation, there is a noticeable size difference of the pores!!
  • The staying power is about 8 hours. This is not saying my makeup is completely gone but its before my redness starts to be noticeable. So someone without redness my find it stays for longer.

Cons

  • Without foundation it makes no difference to the size of my pores at all!
  • The one downside that I'm a little upset about is how shiny it makes me! Some people would probably call this a natural look but for someone who is normally oily in their t-zone or doesn't like a shiny face may be put off by this!

Collective Beauty Haul!!

Now I  did say to myself that there were not going to be any blog posts until after my exam, not because I didn't want to be because I also had an assignment to do so needed all my time on uni work! But yes I just couldn't last another week!! I find it very therapeutic to just sit here and tap away at the keyboard, and right now I will do anything to keep my stress levels to a minimum.

This is stuff I have brought since January and now I have got it all together it looks alot!

Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - These Biore are a god send for me! I got them as my pores really weren't looking there best after the Christmas period! I always end up needing these when the lovely things are on offer which makes me very happy! They are now back to there normal £10.99!

Antibacterial Hand Gel - I have just ran out of my old one and I start placement in 3 weeks so this is my new handbag buddy! And for 99p this should be in everyones' bag!!

Face Creams - Olay Nature Fusion Night Cream and Loreal Triple Active Anti-Shine Day Cream are my new beautiful creams! I have a real thing for Olay at the minute so I'm sure you will see more of them in future hauls.

Wilkinson Sword Razors - I have tried a few different types of disposable razors but these are by far my favourite!

Dry Shampoo - I use dry shampoo on a daily basis so go through it like there is no tomorrow! I've always had Batiste in the past but thought I did Dove a try as I have heard good things about it!

Makeup - I don't buy makeup as much as I would like, but when I seen a 3 for 2 on Revlon I just had to treat myself! Colorstay foundation is a constant repurchase; I did get the oily/combo skin one again just because I wasn't very happy about how long the normal skin one latest for (review here). I needed a new concealer as mine was well and truly past its use by date so picked up there PhotoReady concealer in the colour light and also a long over due purchase of one of their lip butters; I picked up Berry Smoothie! I also had to get the Baby Skin primer (review coming next week)!

Toothpaste - Now I'm my job/uni course i.e. Childrens Nursing; you smile ALOT!! I spend 6 months of the year smiling 90% of the day so love having nice teeth. I picked this up as it was on offer and love to try products that claim they are the professional choice (sucker I know).

Deodorant - Just a well needed essential on any day but especially when wearing nursing uniform on a stuffy ward!

Time For Change!!

Hey,

I'm sharing my 2014 New Years resolutions with you as I feel sharing them on here is going to keep me motivatated as I'm no quiter; when people know what I really want for myself I won't want to fail!

Life

1. To lose 1.5 stones of weight
I'm hoping to lose more but this is me being realistic to myself
My reason for wanting to do this is confidence and to feel better in my self! A few years back when I went to see a Physio for my numbness in my hands, I was told I had a stiff spine in two places; back then I was happy being a size 12/14 and didn't really notice it....a few years on I'm a size 16 and starting to feel it. I'm most comfy sitting on a floor/sofa cross legged and sleeping in positions that mean I probably put to much strain on my back which I know would ease with a few less pounds!
My sister brought my a student cookbook for Christmas with amazing recipes inside, so I will be going a lot of use out of that when achieving this goal, as many of them are healthy recipes.

2. To cut out all sugar where possible
I know part of my weight lose issue is to do with my super size sweet tooth, so this will help point 1 A LOT!! Cutting sugar out is going to be a real tough one for me but I'm not going to go crazy with it (if food has it in so be it), but I won't be choosing to pick up a bag of sweets in my shopping.

3. To exercise at least 3 times a week
This may be a run in the park or just exercises in my room, but will not include a trip to the gym until I'm back home for the summer because of my student fund; there is just not the funds to pay for that sort of thing!

4. Read More
I love to read but never think to just sit and read; mainly because I hate sitting in silence. I put the TV  on to make noise but it always catches my eye and I don't read much! Last year I read 3 and a half books! This year I want to read at least 6!

Blog

1. Promote my blog posts a lot better
I'm terrible at this! Mainly because I'm not the biggest fan of twitter! but I don't think that its because I'm not a fan as such but because I just never have it open on my pc, and only use twitter on my iPad to browse what others have wrote. So this year want to make this one of my thing....to tweet about new blog posts throughout a day; not just once or twice.

2. To be organised with my blog posts
I'm hoping to get nice placements this year, which will give me time to blog but if not, I want to make sure I'm ahead and have posts scheduled and ready to go! This being organised malarkey does include taking pictures ahead of me wanting to write posts on them too as it is VERY rare that I do that.
