hey,
My idea of integrating
uni into this blog, I thought I would do little updates on what is going on,
what work has got to be done and so forth along with other uni posts that I come
up with along the way!
Now I thought the
little updates throughout the year but they won’t be an every week thing as
some weeks would send you to sleep, they aren’t always interesting as we all
have different likes and dislikes, right?!
This year as you may
know, my 2nd year had me worrying a little as people tell you
stories of the work load etc! It’s actually not all that bad, I’m currently 4
weeks in and not started stressing yet!
It does have more work
but a lot of that is work you do outside uni to increase your knowledge and our
assignment is mind boggling although isn’t in until after Christmas so have plenty
of time to get the good old brain around it!
Before that we have
presentations and simulations, most unis call their simulations ‘osces’, but we
are not marked on these, we are just assessed to make sure we are confident
enough to go out on placements; these might as well be marked as they are
actually nerve racking for some weird reason!
So currently I’m
thinking about my presentation; this is marked and is worth 30% of the module
mark! I keep changing my mind on my topic which is driving me mad, as I don’t want
to do the same as someone in my group. I HATE PUBLIC SPEAKING!!
Last year was mainly
about patient observations and most of the assignments were reflections on what
had been done and what you could have done better, this year is a step up,
learning about stuff such as fluid balance and respiratory assessments but I’m
sure most people get to see this in their first year placements anyway, so it’s
nothing majorly new and we have to do an assignment on a research article which
in my eyes is dull so you need to really want it do to get past it!
I will give updates
about the work when it’s being done but for now there actually isn't much as to
enlightening you with!
